I am no longer on my own for international trips. Likely an accompanyment of both past and present. I used to enjoy the thrill of going to new places, and over time it's becoming overhead that needs to get done for the more important things. (Consideration of myself and my partner; being mindful of the needs of how we go about experiencing since I'm not just responsible for myself any longer)
This trip is going to be my first trip traveling with my partner, and so far before boarding the first flight, it was very hectic when it came to preparation. I see why they say over time you get to understand your partner's routines, and if I did this any earlier, a trip would've being a disaster because I don't think I knew her well enough.
The first trip is meaningful because you can't hide or remove yourself for a period of time. It's raw, low-energy selves where you truly show yourself to them. Both great and bad. You also learn to be more patient with them, growing and nurturing since there's nowhere to escape.
