I follow my calendar religiously. Okay, more like a guideline and this really helps me keep connected. Always making sure that I make the important events. One thing that me and my partner are trying to keep up with is looking after our dog. He's nearing his second birthday. We try to make it a habit of taking him out for adventure so not to feel like his existance is for neighbourhood walks and sleeping.
After a few months of taking him for consistent walks, we found ourselves taking the same routes or leaving the mental load to my partner to figure out "Where this week's adventure will be!" (never ever does it come at that tone and rather more exhausted one).
I turned to automation and how to navigate offloading this and ideally randomising the new spots. I trust AI but I don't trust AI to curate new locations after a quick search with perplexity.
Here is the design.
To explain the workflow, I choose the locations and once I verify they are good we will then add it via google forms. The google form is connected to google sheets where by responses are collected acting like a psuedo database. Then, the key piece, Google App Scripts lets us craft JS scripts that can randomise, select an entry and create our calendar events.
